Mission

The mission of the Colorado Division of Fire Safety is to protect those that live, work and play in Colorado,
by reducing threats to lives, property and the environment. It does this by preventing threats through code enforcement
and by strengthening emergency response capabilities to those incidents that cannot be prevented.

Suppression Program Update

Attention All Suppression Contractors

2012 Contractor registration applications are now available on this website.

• All contractors shall be required to fill out the paper 2012 application-- Click here for 2012 applications.
  • All contractors shall be required to submit all of the necessary paperwork as stated on their application.
  • Paper applications and supporting documentation may be submitted online (please see registration pages for details)
• We will still email your approved registration certificates as we did for 2011 so please provide a current, valid email address.
• To allow time to fill out the paper application and submit all required documentation,the Division will extend all 2011 contractor registrations to January 31, 2012.
• All Contractor registrations for 2012 are $100/year.

  • All requests for testing must be submitted on the "brown" Scantron forms; no faxed copies will be accepted.

Construction/Suppression Inspection Requests

PLEASE ALLOW UP TO ONE WEEK FROM TIME OF REQUEST FOR INSPECTION TO BE PERFORMED. To request an inspection for a construction project, please complete the Inspection Request Form
and select the "submit" button on the form. If you have any questions, please call 303-239-4600 or send an email to DFS-inspections@cdps.state.co.us.

• The person requesting the inspection will be contacted two days before the inspection.
